High Impact Experience

I entered college with a clear sense of who I was and where I wanted to go. It wasn't until my sophomore Creative Writing course that I realized my dreams of becoming a writer were probably not going to become true. While I was a pretty good writer, I started to learn that I didn't really enjoy it like I used to, and my interests were leading me toward public health. This threw me for a loop, so I decided to join this mentoring program to see if I could gain some guidance from an alum who had experienced a similar change in focus. I had such a great experience with Ms. Johnson. She had walked in my shoes before and led me through a difficult but rewarding discernment process on what my values, interests, personality, and skills really were. I'm still in that process, but I am forever grateful to my incredible mentoring for walking alongside me on this path.
